Terms of Service

The IB Nook — Terms of Service

Effective date: 26 September 2025

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your purchase of and access to products and services offered by The IB Nook (“we”, “us”, “our”) via www.theibnook.com and our platform storefront (hosted by Podia). By purchasing, creating an account, or accessing any content, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

We use Podia to host our storefront/digital library and Stripe to process payments. Podia and Stripe act as our service providers (processors). Their policies also apply where relevant.

1) Who we serve

Our resources are designed for IB Diploma Programme (DP1/DP2) students (typically 16+). You must be 16 or older to create an account or purchase. If you are under 18, a parent/guardian should complete the purchase and supervise use.

2) Your account & access

  • You may need a Podia account to access purchases. Keep your details accurate and your password secure.

  • Do not share your login. We may suspend access if we detect sharing or abuse.

  • We may update or improve content at any time. Where we retire a feature, we’ll take reasonable steps to provide notice or an alternative.

3) What you’re buying (digital content licence)

Unless stated otherwise on a product page, purchases grant one individual, non-transferable, non-commercial licence to use:

  • The IB Thrive Deck (Digital) and related audio “Quick-Listen” lessons

  • Printable trackers/worksheets (for your own use)

  • Any other digital downloads explicitly included

You may not resell, upload, share publicly, publish, or distribute our content. Schools or groups require a separate license—email info@theibnook.com.

4) Coaching & guidance (if purchased)

Our coaching and content provide study-skills and wellbeing strategies, not therapy, medical, legal, or clinical advice. We do not guarantee grades or outcomes. You remain responsible for your own study choices and for complying with your school’s/IB’s academic integrity rules.

5) Academic integrity

Use our materials to learn and practise skills, not to circumvent school/IB rules. Do not submit our content as your own work. We may suspend access for academic-integrity violations.

6) Payments, pricing & taxes

  • Prices are shown in GBP (£) unless specified. Taxes/VAT may apply based on your location.

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card details.

  • If a payment plan is offered, you authorise recurring charges until completed. Missed payments may suspend access until resolved.

7) Digital product policy (refunds)

Because access is instant and the products are digital, all sales are final and non-refundable.
Fair-use exceptions (within 7 days): duplicate charge, accidental double purchase, or persistent access issues we cannot fix. Email info@theibnook.com with your order email and receipt.

This does not affect your statutory rights where applicable.

8) Testimonials & student feedback

If you submit a review or feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display it (with initials or anonymised) for marketing/educational use. We will not publish identifying details without your permission.

9) Intellectual property

All site content, lessons, audio, graphics, logos, and printables are owned by The IB Nook or licensed to us and are protected by applicable IP laws. Your licence is limited to personal use as described in Section 3.

10) Privacy

We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy (e.g., account details, diagnostic responses if you choose to complete them). Podia and Stripe process data as our providers. See our Privacy Policy for details and your rights.

11) Availability & changes

We aim for reliable access but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features or content with reasonable notice where practicable.

12) Disclaimers

Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for ensuring our resources are appropriate for your needs.

13) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The IB Nook will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, loss of data, or loss of profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that product (or £100, whichever is higher). Nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

14) Suspension/termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms (e.g., sharing logins, reselling content, academic-integrity breaches). You may stop using the services at any time; this does not create a refund entitlement for digital products.

15) Third-party links & tools

Our site may link to third-party sites or tools. We are not responsible for their content or policies. Your use of Podia/Stripe is subject to their terms.

16) Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales (without regard to conflict-of-laws rules). You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales. Consumers in other countries may also have mandatory local rights.

17) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. We’ll post the new date at the top and, for material changes, provide reasonable notice. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
